About Jen

I'm Jen Jordan, a licensed clinical social worker providing online therapy for teens and adults in Maine and Massachusetts. My work focuses on ADHD, anxiety, trauma, relationship stress, and identity exploration.

I work from a trauma-informed, somatic lens, meaning I pay attention not just to the stories you carry, but to how they live in your body. My approach also draws on attachment theory and parts-based work, depending on what fits you best. Clients often describe my style as down to earth, direct, and genuinely collaborative.

Therapy with me is not about fixing what's wrong with you. It's about understanding what happened to you, and finding your way back to yourself.

I don't believe in one-size-fits-all therapy. Some sessions we might talk things through. Others we might slow down and notice what's happening in your body as you talk. I'll follow your lead on pace, and I'll be honest with you about what I'm noticing and why.

Outside the therapy room, I live in rural Maine with my wife and our family, on a small property with more animals than makes sense. Sessions occasionally come with a cat poking its head into frame, or a bird that's decided it needs to come inside for reasons known only to it.

Therapy works best when it doesn't feel like one person has it together and the other doesn't. I'm not going to pretend I've got it all figured out. I've made plenty of my own messes, some I've cleaned up, some I'm still working on, and I bring that with me into this work, not as a story I tell, but as part of how I listen.

WHAT TO EXPECT

If you've never done therapy, or a past experience left you wary, I want you to know a few things before we ever talk.

You don't need the right words, a diagnosis, or a tidy explanation for why you're here. You're allowed to go slow, and you're in charge of what you share and when. If something didn't work for you before, I take that seriously. It tells me something useful, not that you did therapy wrong.

If this sounds like a good fit, I'd love to talk. You can schedule a free 15-minute consultation, no pressure, just a conversation to see if working together feels right.
